The ARC is a collaboration between AMC, Reade and VUMC wherein rheumatologic research and education at these three organizations has been brought together in one Organization.
About ARC
The Amsterdam Rheumatology and Immunology Center
On October 14, 2014, the Amsterdam Rheumatology & Immunology Center was established, a partnership between AMC, VUmc and Reade in the field of rheumatology and immunology. The center combines high-quality, scientific research with training top talent for research into these diseases. The collaboration makes the center a strong international research partner in the field of basic and clinical rheumatology and immunology. It is also an important regional and national reference center for rheumatology research. This creates the largest center for this research in the Netherlands. Within the Amsterdam Rheumatology & Immunology Center over 50 researchers work on the detection and treatment of rheumatic and immunological disorders.
With 17 Principle Investigators and over 60 researchers and staff, the ARC strives to research excellence in multiple areas within the field of Rheumatology and Immunology. We involve patients with rheumatic diseases in research and education, and we hope increasingly to be viewed, nationally and internationally, as trustworthy and innovative research partners by other researchers and funding agencies, both in basic and clinical research.
(Inter) nationally, we appeal to students, researchers, doctors and paramedics and our expertise is accessible to everyone.
In this way, the ARC makes an important contribution to society.

Collective ambition ARC
The Amsterdam Rheumatology and Immunology Center (ARC) was established in 2015 as the umbrella network organization for the rheumatology and immunology research done in the Departments of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at AMC, the large rheumatology group practice at READE, and the Department of Rheumatology at VUMC, all located in Amsterdam.
