Thesis award for Dr. Mariette de Rooij: physiotherapy very effective for knee arthrosis and comorbidities Wednesday March 15th 2017, at the annual Science Day of the Royal Dutch Society of physiotherapy (KNGF) and the Scientific College of Physiotherapy, Mariette de Rooij was awarded the best thesis prize. In her thesis she investigated the effectivity of physiotherapy for patients with knee arthrosis and comorbidities. Physiotherapy (exercise therapy) with specific adaptations appeared very effective and safe for patients with knee arthrosis and (severe) comorbidities such as heart failures, COPD, type 2 diabetes.
